The state lottery office reported Tuesday that three California Lottery participants had won more than $12 million through lottery games.

Luis Castaneda Esparza and Baltazar Hernandez-Jimenez, two lottery players, each won $5 million after participating in the Year of Fortune and Neon Cash Party scratcher games.

Esparza bought the winning scratch-off ticket at an Orange County Chevron station in Brea. The Neon Cash Party scratcher ticket was purchased by Hernandez-Jimenez at a 7-Eleven in San Leandro, Alameda County.

“Both players matched the same number, 36, on their scratchers tickets to win their $5 million prizes,” the news release stated.

Ali Dib won almost $2 million after buying a Mega Millions ticket in November that contained five of the six winning numbers. In San Bruno, San Mateo County, a Shell station is where the ticket was bought.

Any ticket bought after the deadline will be entered into the following drawing, which will take place on Friday.

Recent lucky winners of the California Lottery include Edwin Castro, who in November took home the record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball prize.

Castro recently spent some of his profits to buy a $4 million house in Altadena and a $25.5 million mansion in the Hollywood Hills.
