There won’t be a giant replica of a doughnut on the roof when Randy’s Donuts opens in Riverside on Aug. 5. But there will be about 60 types of the real thing inside.
According to a Facebook post, the shop will open at 6 a.m. on August 5. Magnolia Crossings is a new shopping development on Van Buren Boulevard near the 91 Freeway.
It will be the chain's 12th outlet in Southern California and the Inland Empire's first.
The brand got its beginnings in Inglewood, where a 32-foot-tall doughnut on the roof has appeared in movies and music videos.
Through franchising, the brand has expanded across Southern California in recent years. According to a press release, the Riverside store is owned by Jay Rajput, who hopes to develop more Inland sites.
The grand opening will be marked by live entertainment by a disc jockey, as well as doughnut and item giveaways. Customers will also receive one free raised glazed doughnut between 6 a.m. and noon, while supplies last. According to the press release, the campaign will run until August 31 for teachers in pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade schools, who can get a free glazed doughnut by providing their school ID.
The new Inland Empire Randy's Donuts is located at 3519 Van Buren Boulevard, Suite 101.
