A female driver has been apprehended after a chase that began in San Diego County traveling through Corona and finishing in Compton.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol were pursuing a car that led them through numerous counties Saturday night.

The Escondido Police Department was the first one to report the pursuit in San Diego County.

The driver, believed to be a woman, drove to Corona, where Riverside County police took over the pursuit.

The chase continued eastbound on the 91 Freeway into Orange County, going past Yorba Linda and Anaheim.

The motorist then exited onto the 5 Freeway, going toward Long Beach and Los Angeles County.

The chase was taken over by the Los Angeles Sheriff's helicopter once it arrived in the county.

The driver arrived in Compton and entered a mobile home park, driving through the small streets until they came to a complete stop in front of a single residence.

When authorities tackled the driver to the ground, she calmly walked out of the vehicle and attempted to enter the residence.

The driver was then apprehended.
